The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: "Self-Love is what we are due! For, the only thing that stands between you and Self-Love is you!"
By the way, this post was originally published on my "Three Dark Horses" and "Small All White in the Forest" blogs. And I republished this post on my new "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog as part of that new blog's "For Valentine's Day" series, because I felt like this post had a kind of Valentine's Day message in it that I write about a lot, regarding "falling in love with yourself," which is why—when I republished this post on my new blog—I decided to include it in the Valentine's Day series of posts.
And this poem was also published on my "Three Dark Horses" and "Small All White in the Forest" blogs (please see the hyperlinks below for the blogs), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through "Three Dark Horses" and "Small All White in the Forest."
