Post No. 301: "My Point Of View On," Part 22 — Happiness

(Image from Flickr)

These blog posts with the 'header' titles, "My Point Of View On," Parts 1 - 26, are originally from my "Paul Whiting — Math Magician" blog, which is my blog with the fewest posts. So, I decided to not group posts in this series with similar topics from that blog (unlike the blog post series with similar topics from my other blogs, which I republished on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog), because I wanted this series of posts in their chronological order, representing the way they were originally published.

My Point Of View On...
Happiness

My Point Of View No. 1: Your enemy is your fear!

My Point Of View No. 2: You do need to "throw away" your enemy: it is the fear of your enemy—by facing your fear—that you need to "throw away."

My Point Of View No. 3: If you face a fear—you transform the energy—and you never have to be burdened by that fear in the same way again.

My Point Of View No. 5: The only thing preventing you from being happy is you NOT facing your fear!

My Point Of View No. 4: If you face your fears, you will erase your fears...

My Point Of View No. 6: Happiness is freedom from fear!

Post No. 273: The Rapture Is Fearlessness

(Image from YouTube)

The Rapture Is Fearlessness
(Or, "The Rapture Is Your Fear 'Left Behind'")

'The Rapture' is fearlessness, because
the joy in life that you experience when
you make a "good" decision to face your
fear is due to the fact that your fear is "left
behind," once you face it! For, what a lot of
us souls fear is making a "bad" decision—and
having to deal with the negative consequences
of that "bad" decision. For example, you need to
figure out "which is the correct path to God in
life?"
, so that when God finally returns for the
Last Judgment, He sends you to Heaven—rather
than to Hell—and in that way, you have clearly
made a "good" decision. Therefore, you won't be
"left behind" with everyone who made a "bad"
decision. And that is what many souls truly fear:
specifically, it is making a "really bad" decision
with regard to "which is the correct path to God
in life?"
However, what if 'The Rapture'—or the
joy from making a "good" decision—instead
came from you making a "good" decision to
face your fear? What that means is that
your fearlessness is 'The Rapture,' since
it is your fear that is "left behind."

My Writing Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: "The Rapture" is fearlessness, because the joy in life that you experience when you make a "good" decision to face your fear is due to the fact that your fear is "left behind," once you face it!

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how this poem was written when I was editing it on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer," "Small All White in the Forest," "Poet, Artist and Philosopher" and "Three Dark Horses" blogs. So, I wanted to show you how this poem used to be written, before I revised it as above.

And it used to be written like this:

'The Rapture' is fearlessness, because
the joy in life that you experience when
you make a "good" decision to face your
fear is due to the fact that your fear is "left
behind," once you face it! For, what a lot of
us souls fear is making a "bad" decision—and
having to deal with the negative consequences
of that "bad" decision. For example, you need to
figure out "which is the correct path to God in life?"
so that when God returns for the Last Judgment, He
sends you to Heaven—not to Hell—and in that way,
you have clearly made a "good" decision. Therefore,
you won't be "left behind" with everyone who made
a "bad" decision. And that is what many souls fear:
specifically, it is making a "really bad" decision with
regard to "which is the correct path to God in life?"
What if, however, 'The Rapture'—or the joy in
life from making a "good" decision—instead
came from you making a "good" decision to
face your fear? What that means is your
fearlessness is 'The Rapture,' since it
is your fear that is "left behind."

Thus, I revised this poem to be written as it is above.

And this poem was published on my "Poet, Artist and Philosopher," "Three Dark Horses" and "Small All White in the Forest" blogs (please see the hyperlinks below for the blogs), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through "Poet, Artist and Philosopher," "Three Dark Horses" and "Small All White in the Forest." Plus, I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through my new "The Oneness Of God" spiritual practice!

This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.

My Writing About Happiness Having To Be Engineered: Happiness has to be engineered, since we are Literally Nothing that is self-aware! And that is why every single, little thing has to be thought into existence by being designed, built through trial and error efforts, tested for workability, verified as effective, implemented as planned and, finally, maintained and repaired. And—if necessary—every single, little thing also has to be rethought, redesigned, rebuilt through trial and error efforts, retested for workability, reverified as effective, reimplemented as planned, and then re-maintained and re-repaired, etc... –Paul Whiting (written March 5th, 2022, revised May 31st, 2022 and revised July 25th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About 'The Seven Steps To Happiness,' So To Speak, As They Relate To Fear, Understanding And Love [March 27th, 2023 Update—Continued Further (Originally From My Blog Post Titled, "I Am No Longer Being An Activist In The Same Way That I Was," Which Is On My "Poet, Artist and Philosopher" Blog)]:

This 'March 27th, 2023 Update—Continued Further' is originally from my blog post titled, "I Am No Longer Being An Activist In The Same Way That I Was" on my "Poet, Artist and Philosopher" blog, which also appears on some of my blogs as the following: "My Writing About 'The Seven Steps To Happiness,' So To Speak, As They Relate To Fear, Understanding And Love." And what inspired this writing is an idea that—as a philosopher—I have been thinking about for quite some time regarding the steps that one has to take in order to be hard working and honest.

And the idea I had been thinking about—which I was planning to eventually put into writing as grouped into seven subcategories within a larger category, or seven individual steps on a lifelong journey—went something like the following statement:

1) You have to assume risk 2) in order to solve problems 3) through the utilization of trial and error effort 4) since you have to make mistakes 5) and you have to learn from your mistakes 6) so that you can face your fears 7) which is why you can be hard working and honest!

Then, on March 27th, 2023, the day that I wrote this 'update,' I was contemplating the connection between fear (which is negative energy), understanding (which is neutral energy) and love (which is positive energy). And I had also been thinking over some period of time about the direct connection between the facing of fear, which leads to an understanding of that fear by facing it, which then leads to an inversion of that fear into its exact opposite state of love.

Thus, these two different types of thinking about how to be hard working and honest, as well as how to invert your fear into love through understanding of a particular fear by facing that fear, came together in my mind, which is why I created "My Writing About 'The Seven Steps To Happiness,' So To Speak, As They Relate To Fear, Understanding And Love."

Here are "The Seven Steps To Happiness":

Step To Happiness No. 1: You need to assume calculated risk in order to face your fears so that you are able to invert (or, "convert to the opposite state of energy") your fear—which is negative energy—so that you can solve the many problems in life that are "down-to-earth," so to speak, because they are gravity-based problems (such as access to healthy food, clean water, fresh air, sufficient clothing, adequate personal care products, quality health care, affordable housing, efficient transportation, etc.) and also psychologically-based problems (such as having plenty of satisfying friendships, romance, quality time with family, relaxation, sleep, etc.).

Step To Happiness No. 2: And you sometimes need to create solutions "out of thin air," so to speak, when you are facing your fears, by assuming risk and solving problems through trial and error effort. Thus, solving "down-to-earth" problems is no small task because sometimes the "out-of-thin-air" solutions may be the only thing that you have available in your proverbial took box. And you have test (or, try out) those "out-of-thin-air" solutions to see if they frickin' work in order to solve those "down-to-earth" problems!

Step To Happiness No. 3: Then, while you are testing (or, trying out) the "out-of-thin-air" solutions to your "down-to-earth" problems, through trial and error effort, you have to make mistakes (sometimes, really big mistakes!), so that you can learn from your "trial-and-error" mistakes (even the really big mistakes!) and that way you are able to do better in future after having learned from your (sometimes, really big!) mistakes.

Step To Happiness No. 4: Now, because you can do better in future, since you are able to learn from your "trial-and-error" mistakes, that is what makes it possible for you to be hard working and honest, which is why you can be happy!

Step To Happiness No. 5: Thus, you can face your fear (which is negative energy) and invert—or, "convert to the opposite state of energy"—your fear into understanding (which is neutral energy), since you can finally understand exactly why you were fearful! And that is what makes it possible to convert your fear into the opposite state of love (which is positive energy) through your understanding of that particular fear by having faced the fear.

Step To Happiness No. 6: To clarify though, facing your fear is no small task, since fear can be abjectly terrifying! So, when I talk about facing fears, I mean the really big fears, like having everything go horribly wrong and having to pick up the pieces of your world that may very well have completely shattered. However, that doesn't mean that all fear facing is nearly that intense, but it sure can be, depending upon the circumstances in which you are facing your fears and the types of fears that you are facing.

Step To Happiness No. 7: Therefore, you need to have a healthy respect for assuming calculated risk in order to face your fears by creating solutions to problems through trial and error effort, because you sometimes have to make really big mistakes, and learn from those mistakes, so that you can do better in future, which is what makes it possible for you to be hard working and honest, and that is why you can be happy! So, facing fears is inverting the negative energy of fear into the neutral energy of understanding, which is what makes the positive energy of love possible, since you understand why you were fearful. That is why facing your fears is no small task, because fear can be abjectly terrifying, hence the need to have a healthy respect for assuming calculated risk.

So, in summary "The Seven Steps To Happiness" are accomplished by doing the following:

1) You need to assume calculated risk in order to face your fears by
2) creating solutions to problems through trial and error effort, and by
3) making mistakes, then learning from those mistakes, so that you can do better in future, since
4) learning from your "trial-and-error" mistakes is what makes it possible for you to be hard working and honest, thereby making it possible for you to
5) invert your fear into understanding first and then into love second; however,
6) facing your fears is no small task because fear can be abjectly terrifying, therefore,
7) you need to have a healthy respect for assuming calculated risk, in order to face your fears by creating solutions to problems through trial and error effort, because you sometimes have to make really big mistakes, and learn from those mistakes, so that you can do better in future, which is what makes it possible for you to be hard working and honest, and that is why you can be happy!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing Notes:

The reason that I wrote this prose can be summed up with the following statement: All souls began as Literally Nothing, so creating self-responsibility, self-expression, self-identity, self-care, self-love, fear facing and fulfilling work for your own soul—in context appropriate ways—are the keys to all happiness! Thus, happiness has to be engineered, since we are Literally Nothing that is self-aware!

Post No. 104: To The Ones I Love, Part 13 — Turn And Face The Dragon!

Image from Pinterest

The Dragon Of Your Dreams
(Or, "Turn And Face The Dragon")

Every night when you go to sleep and
dream, you can finally face your fears—
or so it seems! Because we truly are the
hero of our very own tale, which is the
reason, in dreams, we can never truly fail...

...So, no matter what happens to you in such
dramatic ways, you are the one who will
surely save the day! And that is because you
created the whole scene—from beginning
to end and everything in between...

...Thus, when you are perched upon your
fiery steed, and you are being pursued by
"the darkest of deeds," do not despair in
your hour of need! Turn to face this beast
that your pleading does not seem to heed...

...For, he is the dragon of your worst
nightmares and he will totally follow you
quite literally everywhere! And you may try
to escape him—but it's all for not; for, he's
the part of yourself you have totally forgot...

...Thus, he's the part of yourself from a long
time ago when you thought being negative
was "putting on a good show." And you may
have even felt that choosing blame was true
power, only to realize that "The Sons of
Men" had just built "The Babylon Tower"...

...And here's the reason you should turn
and face the dragon; because he's really just
you back when you were "off the wagon!"
So, whenever you are dreaming, always
remember this: the dragon of your dreams
is simply you back when you were miffed!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., A Creative Writer)
"I maybe say too much about how life really is!"

My Writing Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I wrote this poem with "The Dragon" as a symbol of Your Subconscious Mind, when you are dreaming and experiencing "nightmares." In other words, "The Dragon" is your subconsciousness mind being reflected by Your Own Negative Karma while you are dreaming! Thus, there is no need to fear your nightmares since, when you dream, you are seeing Your Subconscious Mind projected in front of you like a movie. And that is why lucid dreaming (or, learning how to control your dreams) is such a good thing to practice when you are dreaming!

And this poem was also published on my "Small All White in the Forest" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Small All White in the Forest."

This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.

Post No. 074: Absolutely Positive, Part 3 — To Finally Be Free

(Image from muslimmatters.org)

To Finally Be Free

I am on the precipice,
looking over its edge,
and ready to step off!

I have come to this place
by choice: I have run until
there was no more ground;

I have hidden until there
was no more cover; I have
denied until I faced death.

This is a good place to be
after such a long journey!
It is good to just stand still.

It is good to not be numb.
It is good to be uncomfortable.
It is good to know I can heal.

Although, I wish I didn’t have to:
I would rather already be there;
I just want this to be over!

But the only way past this
is to go through it; the only way to
get out of this is to go all the way in.

And I know that I will get there—
eventually—and that my journey
will truly begin once I do.

It’s just hard knowing how much
it may hurt—and even harder not
knowing how much it will hurt.

Still I am here, looking down,
just wondering what it will be like
to finally be free of this pain.

My Writing Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: I tested HIV-positive in November of 2000! And I really felt like a failure, because "I was going to get AIDS and die like all of the other fags." So, I wrote this poem as a way to try and make myself feel better by seeing this "life challenge" as an opportunity to heal!

And this poem was also published on my "Three Dark Horses" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog) as part of my new "The Oneness Of God" spiritual practice, since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through "The Oneness Of God!"

Plus, this poem was formerly published on my "Small All White in the Forest" blog but, unfortunately, I accidentally deleted this poem on my "Small All White in the Forest" blog while I was doing some editing on that blog.

So, this new "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog has been an opportunity to recreate the "Absolutely Positive, Part 3 — To Finally Be Free" post as it was originally published on my "Small All White in the Forest" blog.

This poem was written in Portland, Oregon.

Post No. 073: Absolutely Positive, Part 2 — Over My Dead Body

(Image from The Huffington Post)

Over My Dead Body

I’ve seen what is coming
and it terrifies me! Although,
what I fear is not my death:

It is not doing what
I came here to do—of
not being who I am.

So, I do not need a boyfriend!
I can live without romance, if
that is what I am calling forth.

What I cannot live with
is the realization of being
more, but becoming less.

Instead, I choose to call forth
All That I Am, to be everything
of which I am capable.

Do you hear me, God?
I will not die in a hospital, as
just another fucking statistic.

I will die in a forest,
or in a desert, or in a jungle,
or—better yet—on a cross.

For, I had no idea I was pushing the
experience of being a Master away
from myself. I mean, holy shit!

So, I am totally changing course.
I am doing a complete 'one-eighty'
and I am going into My God Space.

For, I will bring this new path into being.
And the only way that I will ever
give up is over my dead body!

By the way, there used to be an "Absolutely Positive, Part 3 — To Finally Be Free," which was formerly published on my "Small All White in the Forest" blog but, unfortunately, I accidentally deleted that poem while I was doing some editing on that blog!

Besides that, I republished the "Absolutely Positive, Part 3 — To Finally Be Free" post on my new "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog) as it was originally published on my "Small All White in the Forest" blog.

Just so you know, I revised this poem, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how this poem was written when I was editing it on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" and "Small All White in the Forest" blogs. So, I wanted to show you how this poem used to be written, before I revised it as above.

Post No. 062: For The Creator, Part 5 — And Found God

(Image from ForWallpaper.com)

And Found God

I came to the edge of understanding
and found God patiently waiting.

I looked upon the face of death
and found God calmly breathing.

I gave up my hopes and dreams
and found God secretly believing.

I basked in anger and resentment
and found God totally forgiving.

I wallowed in the depths of sadness
and found God quietly reflecting.

I embraced the pomp of certainty
and found God playfully laughing.

I feared that no one would love me
and found God disarmingly adoring.

I came to a new understanding
and found God joyously celebrating.

My Writing About How God Mirrors Whatever We Believe To Be True: I think that God is a quantum computer, because God's Consciousness is the entire Universe! And I also think that you and I are individual projections of God's Consciousness—as individual manifestations of God—and that we are all Gods and/or Goddesses of our own creations! Therefore, God acts just like a "Karmic Mirror," if you will, reflecting what each one of us believes to be true about ourselves, and each other, in relationship to God's Universe. Thus, God simply reflects whatever you and I believe to be true—no matter what we believe—because God is simply mirroring us, being an exact reflection of God, as individual manifestations of God. –Paul Whiting (written August 5th, 2011, revised March 20th, 2015, revised July 29th, 2021, revised March 21st, 2022, revised July 24th, 2022 and revised January 31st, 2023)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: After moving to Portland, Oregon in August of 1999 from Salt Lake City, Utah, where I was born, I returned back to Utah for about two years from January of 2007 to April of 2009, while I was trying to save money, by living with my father, as I tried to pay off my credit card debt.

Then, a few months after returning to Salt Lake City, I became really sick and I was hospitalized about a dozen times over several months due to multiple infections. Plus, I went from being simply HIV-positive to having full-blown AIDS, which is also when I stopped being able to work. Also, I eventually had to declare bankruptcy, and I applied to receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), since I could no longer work. And I almost died a few times due to the various opportunistic infections. But it was the last time that I almost died—and I faced my fear of not being able to take care of myself—which inspired this poem! Plus, this is when I first started taking HIV medications, which I have been taking ever since, and that has really helped to maintain my good health.

And this poem was also published on my "Three Dark Horses" and "Small All White in the Forest" blogs (please see the hyperlinks below for the blogs), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through "Three Dark Horses" and "Small All White in the Forest." Plus, I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message I am trying to convey through my new "The Oneness Of God" spiritual practice!

This poem was written in Salt Lake City, Utah.

However, I may be remembering that incorrectly, because this poem may have been written in Portland, Oregon after I moved there for the second time in 2009; but, I think that this was the only poem that I wrote while I was still in Salt Lake City, Utah when I returned to try and pay off my credit card debt.
